NBC's Today Show Discusses Chiropractic, Stroke
Last Friday's episode of the ever-popular Today Show included a
segment titled, "How to Avoid a Stroke." While the segment
discussed the association between chiropractic and
vertebrobasilar artery stroke, the show's medical expert noted
there is "no definitive link" between the two. She also said
that women should be much more concerned about risk factors like
obesity, hypertension, and smoking, than chiropractic. In his
letter to Today, ACA President Dr. Glenn Manceaux said he
appreciated the show's concerted effort to not unnecessarily
alarm viewers. He also offered the show's producers a copy of
the recent study from the medical journal Spine.
